A character’s skills measure their ability to handle specific situations according to their natural abilities and training in particular fields. When a player describes a task or challenge that their character wishes to attempt, the game master may ask for a “Skill Check,” in which the player must roll 1d20 die and add the appropriate bonuses to reflect their training in the skill in question. Some examples of each skill and their difficulty is provided below.
Jumping, tumbling, and vaulting obstacles
Running, lifting, and feats of strength
Interacting with digital systems
Lying or misleading
Operating vehicles, horses, or mobile weapons
Knowledge of historical events and culture
Detecting motives or truthfulness
Coercing or bullying
Uncovering hidden items or information
Treating wounds and injuries
Knowledge of the outdoors
Observation, noticing surroundings
Speaking, singing, acting, & more
Convincing or encouraging
Maintaining and salvaging machinery
Performing small actions undetected
Moving undetected
Scavenging and resourcefulness
